AI in Real Estate: Estea Optimizes Energy Use at Forskaren 1

Real-time adjustments every 15 minutes

Estea is implementing Myrspoven’s AI-driven energy optimization system at Forskaren 1 in Lund. By optimizing heating, cooling, and ventilation in real time, the project supports lower energy consumption, reduced operating costs, and a more sustainable approach to building management.

AI in Real Estate: Estea Optimizes Energy Use at Forskaren 1

AI-Driven Energy Optimization for a Research Facility in Lund

Estea is taking an important step toward more sustainable building operations by implementing Myrspoven’s AI-driven energy optimization system, myCoreAI, at Forskaren 1 in Lund, Sweden.

The solution will help optimize heating, cooling, and ventilation at the property, reducing energy consumption, lowering operating costs, and shifting energy use to more efficient periods.

Smarter Energy Management with myCoreAI

Myrspoven’s myCoreAI connects to the building’s existing control systems and continuously analyzes both internal and external data. This includes weather conditions, energy tariffs, indoor temperature, CO₂ levels, and humidity.

By learning how the building responds to changing conditions, myCoreAI can make real-time adjustments to improve energy efficiency while maintaining a stable indoor climate.

The system sends optimization signals every 15 minutes, helping Forskaren 1 use only the energy needed to support comfort and performance.

Supporting Sustainability and Grid Flexibility

Estea’s collaboration with Myrspoven reflects a forward-looking approach to energy management in real estate. By using AI to optimize when and how energy is used, the building can reduce unnecessary consumption and shift energy demand away from peak periods.

“We’ve developed an AI solution that not only saves energy and costs but also reduces the use of non-renewable energy by shifting loads during off-peak hours. This approach helps alleviate strain on the energy grid, making buildings part of the solution to the energy crisis,” says Elin Allison, CCO at Myrspoven.

Driving Digital Transformation in Real Estate

Located within Lund’s Knowledge Arc, Forskaren 1 is part of the wider life science cluster in the Öresund region. The property includes both laboratory and office space and is owned by Estea.

The adoption of AI-driven energy optimization aligns with Estea’s ambition to modernize real estate operations through digital technology. By investing in intelligent building control, Estea is improving energy performance while contributing to broader sustainability goals.

“The solution we’re implementing at our research facility is a key step toward the digital transformation of the real estate industry. With Myrspoven’s AI, we’re not only optimizing energy usage but also making a meaningful impact on our sustainability efforts,” says Filip Bons Larsson, Head of Sustainability at Estea AB.
